A Society of Professionals

The Southeast Sommelier Society’s mission is to advance the knowledge of professionals in the wine and hospitality trade, through educational seminars, tastings, and enrichment trips, domestic and abroad.  All of our funding comes via product donations as well as financial contributions from generous members of our community.  And thanks to their contributions, wine education and enrichment opportunities are provided at no charge to the applicant.  Scholarships may be also given to qualifying individuals to help pay for examinations for certification, to develop their skills and expertise in our professional field.

The Southeastern Sommelier Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit, member run organization. We are founded with the goal of supporting wine professionals in the southeastern United States via educational scholarships, enrichment trips and educational seminars. In an increasingly competitive environment we strive to build a community of like-minded wine professionals working to the betterment of each other.

Learning Together

Learning Together

Many individuals find wine to be a complicated and intimidating subject.  Through our variety of educational programs and services, we seek to put an end to this perception and break this “barrier” to make the subject of wine more accessible and approachable to everyone who is interested, without prejudice.

Our educational events will be focused on providing enriching experiences to those in attendance and stimulate further growth both within our media footprint and within the footprint of our partners.   We will accept funds and goods from our partners to provide these experiences.  These will include curated tasting experiences, sommelier competitions, seminars presented by high level educators.
